Episode 165 Retreat Stories and Inspiration

Listen here or use the Flash Player on this site for current and past episodes. Flash Player is not compatible with Internet Explorer.  Try a different browser like Safari.  Or jaunt on over to iTunes to find the show there.

Quince & Co wool yarns are sourced and spun in the US. Known in the trade as "territory wool," our wool comes from Merino, Rambouillet, and Columbia-based sheep that roam the ranges of Montana and Wyoming. All our wool and wool-blend yarns are spun in New England mills with venerable histories. By sourcing our wool in the US and manufacturing our yarn locally, we minimize our carbon footprint. Find Quince wool and the other Quince fibers at www.quinceandco.com.

Peddler’s Way Quilt Shop is a full service shop just off the historic Washington Square.  On the second floor of this 6,000 sq ft store is a fiber corner with an array of fine quality yarns, books, and needles.  http://www.peddlersway.com.

Bronwyn and Sarah joined me earlier this week to share Nature Notes, Needle Notes, our thoughts and stories on the Spring Retreat, knitting inspiration, and a High Note.  You will hear some needle clicking during the show…I thought I could edit that out but I couldn’t so if you have super sensitive ears (like mine) just know that it isn’t the norm for the show.  We have to get Sarah some needle silencers.

Nature Notes
While these birds feasted on the ground thousands were flying through the trees.

Bronwyn has a pair of Mourning doves.

We have an opossum that visits every evening.

Paula and Sarah: Baked Custard

I’ve been making custard in small canning jars for individual servings I can drop off to friends who are a little under the weather. Sarah made custard pie for dinner. I use Betty Crocker recipe similar to the one I found online.

Banal Observation aka BO
