CONGRATULATIONS Paula! Such a blessing and have fun preparing (knitting).
I am happy to have an InstaPot pressure cooker that Dave gave me for my B-day. It takes crock pot cooking to a whole new level and avoids the overcooking that can sometimes happen with the slow - all day versions. It cooks rice, steams, and sautés and also has a delayed timer. It's magic and not a bit scary.
Regarding the felting: I have tons of felted fabric from thrift store sweaters that I machine felted. I use the fabric for everything from chair pads, to coffee mug cozies, to bags. I am always finding use for that stuff. I do hand stitch most but when I use my machine I sandwich in between paper (cheap copy paper or tissue paper) to avoid the madness and bulk. Congratulations again!
Book recommend: A Fine Romance by Susan Branch. THE BEST escape from winter.

Congratulations! If the parents are planning to cloth diaper, you could use the rest of that felted sweater to make a cloth diaper cover. We all know the many benefits of Wool, being naturally water resistant, but adding a little lanolin makes them almost bullet proof. Here's a pattern if that sounds like something you'd be interested in. http://prefold2fitted.blogspot.com/2011/08/upcycled-wool-wrap.html
