Nature Notes

It’s a Blue Moon on Friday July 31st. Is the moon really blue? No. It means that there are two full moon in the same month. This only occurs every 2.5 to 3 years. Last Blue moon was in Aug 31, 2012. Next Blue Moon is Jan 31 2018 and again March 31 2018.

Those are the same stars, and that is the same moon, that look down upon your brothers and sisters, and which they see as they look up to them, though they are ever so far away from us, and each other.  --Sojourner Truth

Thank you, Paula, for the kind words about our visit! It's really fun seeing your pictures and thinking back on our meet-up. And, yes, Piper's Journey is one of the Quince patterns that is hanging in the window. I also really do appreciate all the support you have showed for my preemie hat pattern. Thank you so much. --KnittingDaddy Greg

Happy Blue Moon, my friend! Enjoyed this podcast, as always. Praying I will get to see you at Stitches Midwest, but, if family needs me, I will arrive on Thursday and leave on Friday afternoon, so I'm not sure.

Thank you for making the beginning to my weekend an enjoyable one. Enjoy seeing baby in August, and keep on quilting! -- Love, Lee Bernstein
